The teas we will be making have no caffeine\, just nature’s flavorful spices. They are used to help create heat\, infuse calmness to our minds and aid in digestion. Recipes will be provided to take home with you. \nYoga poses\, that help create a sense of wellbeing during the colder months\, are just what we need to feel grounded and at peace. At the end of this Winter appropriate class\, you will make your own spiced tea to take home with you. Please wear comfortable clothes\, bring a yoga mat and blocks. Yoga mats\, blocks and blankets will be provided if you don’t have them.

Due to their nature\, silent walking is encouraged. Our labyrinth is located on Wengert Road\, at the second drive to the right. Please wear comfortable shoes. Everyone is welcome! No previous meditation experience or experience walking labyrinths is required. \nLearn more about labyrinths! DESCRIPTION:Staying Cool and Calm with Yoga and Ayurveda\n\n\nSaturday\, August 3rd\n9:00 am – 12:00 pm\n10 participant max\n$25/participant\nLed by Joy Lawrence\n\n\nApplying the ancient wisdom of Yoga and her sister science Ayurveda\, we will turn down the summer heat. Join us as we do a morning walk in the labyrinth\, followed by learning how to make a season-appropriate Ayurvedic spiced tea in our barn. As the tea chills\, we will do a one-hour yoga practice\, consisting of yoga poses and breath work. We will enjoy some refreshing spiced tea at the end of our practice and walk away feeling cool\, calm and collected.\n\nPlease bring your yoga mat and yoga blocks if you have them. We will have some provided for use too.

With your help\, we work to turn these hay fields into a thriving\, wonderfully productive\, and biologically diverse ecosystem. An ecosystem that has amazing abilities to filter water\, sequester carbon\, refill groundwater stores\, and provide a refuge for countless species throughout their life cycles. \nHelp us help Earth heal herself. Knowing her generosity\, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you find something beautiful along the way. \nShepherd’s Corner is an ecological ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace that serves as a center for ecology\, spirituality and education. The property’s diverse range of habitats offers a haven for wildlife and native flora\, plus a place of peace\, natural beauty\, and spiritual refreshment. \n  \nLast year at our Earth Day planting we focused on planting emergent and prairie plants in our wetland area. Our 2024 Planting at the wetland\, of screening plants\, is made possible by a Green Funds grant through the Columbus Foundation. We are grateful that we were awarded this grant so that we might continue to establish our wetland area. \n  \nAM Time frame: 9:00 am – Noon \nWho: Participants must over the age of 15 are invited to join us for our Earth Day planting. Because of the walking involved and the heat of the evaporator\, this month we are asking that younger\, mobile accompanying siblings be of an age to comply with safety rules\, so they do not accidentally touch something hot. \n  \nRegistration is required. \n  \n
