SUMMARY:Foraging Jams & Jellies
DESCRIPTION:Foraging Jams & Jellies \nSaturday\, November 15th\n$12/person – Program is open to participants 10 years old and older\n10:00 am – 12:00 pm \nJoin us on an endeavor to find a positive use for native & invasive plants as we share several different examples of foraged items that can be used to make jelly or jam. We will learn how to identify the plant before we harvest their fruits and learn how to create jelly using them. Type of jam/jelly will be determined closer to the date based on what has been or can be foraged. \nPlease wear closed toed shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather and for being outdoors\, if you would like to forage your own fruit when the program is over. \n(The outdoor portion of this event will be dependent on the weather.) \n\n\n \n  \n\n	\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			*participation waiver\n		\n		\n			 \nShepherd’s Corner is a non-profit organization providing access and programs focused on care of creation\, connection to earth\, and reflection. An individual’s decision to participate in any activity or program at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center \nis entirely voluntary. Visitors/participants assume all risks inherent to or associated with his\, her\, or their participation in the activity or event on Shepherd’s Corner’s property. DESCRIPTION:Breadmaking Retreat\n\nSaturday\, February 21st\, 2026\n$25/participant\n10: 00 am – 1:30 pm\nLed by Sr. Cathy Arnold\, OP & Sr. Terri Schell\, OP.\n\nSpend a morning exploring breadmaking as a way of connecting to your roots and searching for meaning in the simple act of baking and sharing bread.\n\nInspired by Meghan Murphy-Gill’s book\, The Sacred Life of Bread\, bakers of all levels and cultural/spiritual backgrounds will bake together\, spend reflective time on the land\, and share the fruits of our food traditions.  Explore how bread connects us to land\, our histories\, and one another. Leave with a deeper appreciation of breadmaking and a loaf you created.\n\nWhat bread holds meaning for you personally or culturally? DESCRIPTION:Maple Sugaring Program\nSaturday\, March 7th\, 2026\n10:00 am – noon\n$10 per participant \nLed by Shepherd’s Corner Staff and volunteers. \nLearn about maple sugaring from tree sap out the tap\, to syrup on your breakfast. Come see our boiling process and taste our syrup\, and more! We ask that children attending be accompanied by adults. Program will be mostly outdoors and will include walking on unimproved\, uneven surfaces. \nRegistration for the syrup tour is required. Ages 2 and under are free.  \n*** We will also be offering small group tours on Weekdays during the maple season if able.
