This program weaves together nature\, movement\, in Christian spiritual reflection.  \nParticipants should be 18 years or older and able to move at a moderate pace while walking. Wear comfortable clothes for movement and sneakers. The trails we’ll encounter are unimproved. In the event of inclement weather\, we will adjust the programming and hold it indoors.  \nWe invite you to bring along a reusable water bottle. Other items you can bring if you would like: yoga mat/towel\, light hand weights or stretch bands\, weighted vest for walking.  \n  \n\nNicole Envid is a nature lover and has been in environmental education for over 20 years. Join us in our annual Earth Day planting to help plant natives along the path in and around our labyrinth area. \nWith the addition of diverse native plants\, we can renew our labyrinth\, making the space an oasis of renewal for us all – animals and ecosystems included! Native plants promote water filtration\, encourage climate resiliency\, and offer food and habitat sources to wild animals. \nHelp us work toward the renewal of all creation through the restoration of native plants in our woods. \nShepherd’s Corner is an ecological ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace that serves as a center for ecology\, spirituality and education. We’re going to spend three meetings talking about Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Kimmerer. We’ll meet three Thursday evenings\, 6:30-8:00\, in the barn and enjoy tea and cookies while we talk.  \nBraiding Sweetgrass is a beautiful reflection on how humanity needs to repair its relationship with the earth by shifting towards an attitude of gratitude\, reciprocity\, and respect. Kimmerer blends scientific knowledge with Indigenous wisdom to share what plants\, and nature can teach us. DESCRIPTION:Tai Chi & Balance\nFriday\, March 27th\, 2026\n1:30 – 3:30 pm\n$10/participant\n8 participants maximum\nLed by Grace Franklin\n\n\nTai Chi movements are slow\, gentle\, and repetitive. Tai Chi is well known for its ability to improve the well-being and health of persons who practice consistently.  It also benefits balance while moving and stationary. Grace will lead a session explaining core moves and principles of Tai Chi\, linking them to improved balance. \nWe will learn a variety of balance movements with variations that you can enjoy at home.  (Bring water\, wear loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes. Bring along a yoga mat if you have one. There will be some that can be borrowed if you do not have one. \n\nPersons who are unsteady on their feet or who have challenges with balance should consult with a physician before registering for this class. We’ll meet three Thursday evenings\, 6:30-8:00\, in the barn and enjoy tea and cookies while we talk.  \nBraiding Sweetgrass is a beautiful reflection on how humanity needs to repair its relationship with the earth by shifting towards an attitude of gratitude\, reciprocity\, and respect. Kimmerer blends scientific knowledge with Indigenous wisdom to share what plants\, and nature can teach us. Heartland Farms is one of the Dominican Sisters of Peace’s other ecology centers located in Pawnee Rock Kansas. \n\nSr. Imelda spend eleven years in Nigeria working with women who used a lot of herbs and flowers in healing ways. This helped spark a fascination of uses for herbs and flowers. With your help\, we work to turn these hay fields into a thriving\, wonderfully productive\, and biologically diverse ecosystem. An ecosystem that has amazing abilities to filter water\, sequester carbon\, refill groundwater stores\, and provide a refuge for countless species throughout their life cycles. \nHelp us help Earth heal herself. Knowing her generosity\, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you find something beautiful along the way. \nShepherd’s Corner is an ecological ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace that serves as a center for ecology\, spirituality and education. The property’s diverse range of habitats offers a haven for wildlife and native flora\, plus a place of peace\, natural beauty\, and spiritual refreshment. \n  \nEarth Day Planting \nWho: Participants over the age of 15 are invited to join us for our Earth Day planting. Minors (15-17) should be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.\nWhat: Wetland Earth Day Planting at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology.\nWhen: 9:00 am – Noon\nWhere: Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center – 987 N. Waggoner Road Blacklick Ohio\, 43229\nWhat to Bring: work gloves\, shovel\, boots or old shoes\, a reusable water bottle \n  \n  \n  \n\n \n  \n\n	\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			*Participation waiver\n		\n		\n			 \nShepherd’s Corner is a non-profit organization providing access and programs focused on care of creation\, connection to earth\, and reflection.\nAn individual’s decision to participate in any activity or program at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center\nis entirely voluntary. Visitors/participants assume all risks inherent to or associated with his\, her\, or their participation in the activity\nor event on Shepherd’s Corner’s property. Visitors/participants also take responsibility for their own level of fitness.\nIn signing this waiver\, I\, intending to be legally bound for myself\, my heirs\, executors\, and administrators\, waive\, release and forever\ndischarge any and all rights and claims for damages I have or may have against Shepherd’s Corner or its employees\, for any and all claims\nand damages\, demands actions whatsoever in any manner\, as a result of my participation in programs\, events\, or visitation.\nI hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use my name and likeness in any broadcast\, telecast\, video or print media\nreporting or advertising of the event without compensation. This waiver extends and includes the minors in attendance for whom you are responsible.
