DESCRIPTION:Tai Chi Workshop: part 2\nFriday\, August 9th\n10:30 – 12:30\n$10\n8 participants maximum\nLed by Grace Franklin\n\n\nTai Chi movements are slow\, gentle\, and repetitive. They require no special equipment\, don’t take a lot of time\, and leave you feeling good! Regular practice of Tai Chi benefits balance\, flexibility\, memory\, coordination\, and vitality. \n\nLearn basic postures and fundamentals in a light-hearted but serious way.  You will learn about core principles of Tai Chi\, easy warm-up and cool-down exercises\, and a short flow form.  Class handouts will help you practice on your own at home. \nYour teacher and guide Grace Franklin has been practicing since 2008 with Living Tao lineage teachers Chungliang Al Huang\, Cielle Tewksbury and Dan Jones. \n\n\n\nFeel free to bring your lunch and stay after the tai chi class. You can also walk the labyrinths or meditation trail after class as well.

Join us as we do a morning walk in the labyrinth\, followed by learning how to make a season-appropriate Ayurvedic spiced tea in our barn. As the tea chills\, we will do a one-hour yoga practice\, consisting of yoga poses and breath work. We will enjoy some refreshing spiced tea at the end of our practice and walk away feeling cool\, calm and collected.\n\nPlease bring your yoga mat and yoga blocks if you have them. We will have some provided for use too.

DESCRIPTION:At capacity.\n\nTai Chi Workshop\nFriday\, July 12th\n10:30 – 12:30\n$10\n8 participants maximum\nLed by Grace Franklin\n\n\nTai Chi movements are slow\, gentle\, and repetitive. They require no special equipment\, don’t take a lot of time\, and leave you feeling good! Regular practice of Tai Chi benefits balance\, flexibility\, memory\, coordination\, and vitality. \n\nLearn basic postures and fundamentals in a light-hearted but serious way.  You will learn about core principles of Tai Chi\, easy warm-up and cool-down exercises\, and a short flow form.  Class handouts will help you practice on your own at home. \nYour teacher and guide Grace Franklin has been practicing since 2008 with Living Tao lineage teachers Chungliang Al Huang\, Cielle Tewksbury and Dan Jones. \n\n\n\n\n\nFeel free to bring your lunch and stay after the tai chi class. You can also walk the labyrinths or meditation trail after class as well.

DESCRIPTION:An Earth Day Invitation \nThe creation of this wetland is an act of love for Earth. With your help\, we work to turn these hay fields into a thriving\, wonderfully productive\, and biologically diverse ecosystem. An ecosystem that has amazing abilities to filter water\, sequester carbon\, refill groundwater stores\, and provide a refuge for countless species throughout their life cycles. \nHelp us help Earth heal herself. Knowing her generosity\, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you find something beautiful along the way. \nShepherd’s Corner is an ecological ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace that serves as a center for ecology\, spirituality and education. The property’s diverse range of habitats offers a haven for wildlife and native flora\, plus a place of peace\, natural beauty\, and spiritual refreshment. \n  \nLast year at our Earth Day planting we focused on planting emergent and prairie plants in our wetland area. Our 2024 Planting at the wetland\, of screening plants\, is made possible by a Green Funds grant through the Columbus Foundation. We are grateful that we were awarded this grant so that we might continue to establish our wetland area. \n  \nAM Time frame: 9:00 am – Noon \nWho: Participants must over the age of 15 are invited to join us for our Earth Day planting. Our labyrinth is located on Wengert Road\, at the second drive to the right. Please wear comfortable shoes. Everyone is welcome! DESCRIPTION:Home School Adventure Days\n3rd Wednesday of the month\n1:00 – 3:00 pm \n$5/student \nAll ages welcome. Come learn and explore! Join us for seasonal activities each month. On this day we will be focusing on maple sugaring. We will be seeing how trees are tapped\, and learning how sap is turned into syrup! There will be walking to the sugar bush area in the woods and watching the evaporator boil the maple sap. Because of the walking involved and the heat of the evaporator\, this month we are asking that younger\, mobile accompanying siblings be of an age to comply with safety rules\, so they do not accidentally touch something hot. \n  \nRegistration is required. \n  \n

Take a winter walk through the woods at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center. \nThis day is open to folks of all ages. Children should be accompanied by an adult. \nMore information\, including times for scheduled activities geared toward children\, will be announced closer to the date. Activities for the day are free however donations are greatly appreciated.
