They require no special equipment\, don’t take a lot of time\, and leave you feeling good! Regular practice of Tai Chi benefits balance\, flexibility\, memory\, coordination\, and vitality. \n\nLearn basic postures and fundamentals in a light-hearted but serious way.  You will learn about core principles of Tai Chi\, easy warm-up and cool-down exercises\, and a short flow form.  Class handouts will help you practice on your own at home. \nYour teacher and guide Grace Franklin has been practicing since 2008 with Living Tao lineage teachers Chungliang Al Huang\, Cielle Tewksbury and Dan Jones. \n\n\n\nFeel free to bring your lunch and stay after the tai chi class. You can also walk the labyrinths or meditation trail after class as well.

DESCRIPTION:Staying Cool and Calm with Yoga and Ayurveda\n\n\nSaturday\, August 3rd\n9:00 am – 12:00 pm\n10 participant max\n$25/participant\nLed by Joy Lawrence\n\n\nApplying the ancient wisdom of Yoga and her sister science Ayurveda\, we will turn down the summer heat. Join us as we do a morning walk in the labyrinth\, followed by learning how to make a season-appropriate Ayurvedic spiced tea in our barn. As the tea chills\, we will do a one-hour yoga practice\, consisting of yoga poses and breath work. We will enjoy some refreshing spiced tea at the end of our practice and walk away feeling cool\, calm and collected.\n\nPlease bring your yoga mat and yoga blocks if you have them. We will have some provided for use too.

Corn\, zucchini\, tomatoes\, cucumbers\, squash\, cabbage… all are now well on their way to the future harvest. Sun\, rain\, soil and tending all contribute to a healthy crop. \nWe also have our personal\, emotional\, and spiritual gardens that need tending. How are we growing personally? What is needed for the growth we look forward to? Labyrinth walks\, forest baths\, meditation\, alone time\, family\, nurturing relationships\, church\, books?   \n  \n\n\n\nLabyrinth walks are times for quiet reflection. Due to their nature\, silent walking is encouraged. Our labyrinth is located on Wengert Road\, at the second drive to the right. Please wear comfortable shoes. Everyone is welcome! No previous meditation experience or experience walking labyrinths is required. \nLearn more about labyrinths! Whether it is an awareness of the halfway point between the Spring Solstice and the Summer Equinox\, or the commemoration of the value of the ‘Worker’\, this evening’s journey in our labyrinth may bring to mind the gifts of nature or the gifts of our labors. \n\n\n\nLabyrinth walks are times for quiet reflection. Due to their nature\, silent walking is encouraged. Our labyrinth is located on Wengert Road\, at the second drive to the right. Please wear comfortable shoes. Everyone is welcome! No previous meditation experience or experience walking labyrinths is required. \nLearn more about labyrinths! DESCRIPTION:An Earth Day Invitation \nThe creation of this wetland is an act of love for Earth. With your help\, we work to turn these hay fields into a thriving\, wonderfully productive\, and biologically diverse ecosystem. An ecosystem that has amazing abilities to filter water\, sequester carbon\, refill groundwater stores\, and provide a refuge for countless species throughout their life cycles. \nHelp us help Earth heal herself. Knowing her generosity\, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you find something beautiful along the way. \nShepherd’s Corner is an ecological ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace that serves as a center for ecology\, spirituality and education. The property’s diverse range of habitats offers a haven for wildlife and native flora\, plus a place of peace\, natural beauty\, and spiritual refreshment. \n  \nLast year at our Earth Day planting we focused on planting emergent and prairie plants in our wetland area. Our 2024 Planting at the wetland\, of screening plants\, is made possible by a Green Funds grant through the Columbus Foundation. We are grateful that we were awarded this grant so that we might continue to establish our wetland area. \n  \nAM Time frame: 9:00 am – Noon \nWho: Participants must over the age of 15 are invited to join us for our Earth Day planting. Minors (15-17) should be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.\nWhat: Wetland Earth Day Planting at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology.
