Knowing her generosity\, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you find something beautiful along the way. \nShepherd’s Corner is an ecological ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace that serves as a center for ecology\, spirituality and education. The property’s diverse range of habitats offers a haven for wildlife and native flora\, plus a place of peace\, natural beauty\, and spiritual refreshment. \n  \nLast year at our Earth Day planting we focused on planting emergent and prairie plants in our wetland area. Our 2024 Planting at the wetland\, of screening plants\, is made possible by a Green Funds grant through the Columbus Foundation. We are grateful that we were awarded this grant so that we might continue to establish our wetland area. \n  \nAM Time frame: 9:00 am – Noon \nWho: Participants must over the age of 15 are invited to join us for our Earth Day planting. DESCRIPTION:From April through mid-November\, we are open to visitors on Mondays from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. \nWe invite you to spend time at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center. Come walk our meditation trail and the outdoor labyrinths. We do ask that all visitors check in at the office upon their arrival. We will be closed in the event of inclement weather. If you are considering visiting\, we ask that you contact us either by calling (614) 866-4302 or by emailing and letting us know. \nIf there are Mondays where we will be closed\, these will be noted on the calendar & on Facebook. There will also be occasions where we are open other days which we will note on our calendar & on Facebook. \nWhen coming to visit please stop by the barn and let us know you’re here for a visit. We ask a $2 donation per person donation. (We’re continually collecting items to be donate to local food pantries\, so you are always welcome to bring shelf stable items!)

Contact us to be added to the wait list for this program. \n—- \nFelting Program: Wet Felted Flowers \nSaturday\, March 16th       1:30-3:30 pm\n$20 program fee\n*12 participant maximum* \nLearn how to make three dimensional felt flowers out of wool and soapy water.  The leaves\, petals\, stamen\, and pistil are constructed from dry wool and then transformed into a blooming flower using the wet felting technique.  The finished flower can be worn as a brooch or used as a decoration for hats\, handbags or gifts. \nFacilitated by: Gail Maraman\nGail became interested in wool and felt making when she began caring for a small flock of sheep at Windy Crest Farm in Granville\, Ohio. Using the wool from her own sheep\, she learned how to design and create many different types of felt: traditional\, watercolor\, needle\, and Nuno. Today\, her finished felt pieces include wearable art accessories and items for home decor. \nRegistration\, which is required\, closes three business days prior to the program or when capacity is reached.
