SUMMARY:Foraging Jams & Jellies
DESCRIPTION:Foraging Jams & Jellies \nSaturday\, November 9th\n$10 /person\n10:00 am – 12:00 pm \nJoin us on an endeavor to find a positive use for native & invasive plants as we share several different examples of foraged items that can be used to make jelly or jam.  We will learn to identify the plant before we harvest their fruits and learn how to create jelly using them. We’ll be working with different items than our September Foraging Jams and Jellies class! \nPlease wear closed toed shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather and for being outdoors. Part of this program will take place in the woods on uneven unimproved surfaces. Bring gloves and clippers to help in removing some invasive plants. \n(Which items we gather from the woods\, if any\, will depend on how the weather and rate of precipitation impact the forest.)

SUMMARY:Wet Felted Harvest Trivet
DESCRIPTION:Felting Program: Wet Felted Harvest Trivet \nSaturday\, November 9th       1:30-3:30 pm\n$20 program fee\n*12 participant maximum* \nLearn how to transform wool and plant fibers into felt using the wet felting technique. A\nsimple\, square shape is the guide for the fiber layout. Natural and dyed wool\, flax\, and cotton\nfibers will be provided to decorate the surface and add texture to the felt. The finished project\ncan be used as a trivet for a fall harvest table or as wall hanging decor. Final project will be around 6″ x 6″. \nFacilitated by: Gail Maraman\nGail became interested in wool and felt making when she began caring for a small flock of sheep at Windy Crest Farm in Granville\, Ohio. Using the wool from her own sheep\, she learned how to design and create many different types of felt: traditional\, watercolor\, needle\, and Nuno. Today\, her finished felt pieces include wearable art accessories and items for home decor. \nRegistration\, which is required\, closes three business days prior to the program or when capacity is reached. Program has a minimum of five participants. We ask that program participants pay for the program at the time of registration. Payment can be made using the secure form on this page. You may also pay by check or cash if you prefer. Please register by calling (614) 866-4302\, emailing\, or via this form\, \n\n \nShepherd’s Corner Ecology Center is an outreach of The Dominican Sisters of Peace.
